REGULATIONS CONCERNING NAILING

Going on the water trail, we must remember, that just like on land roads, the water regulations also apply to us, tourists-water sports enthusiasts. In the orders of the Ministry of Shipping, we distinguish two main groups of these provisions, namely: rules for sailing and rules for signs and signals. Some of the regulations for tourists are given below:

1. Any events above 20 persons can only be held in agreement with the water administration and must be declared on 10 days ahead of schedule;

2. Units o 20 m2 and below can use the full width of the waterway, provided that the shipping traffic is not blocked;

3. The vessel must have a white light at the front,-

4. It is forbidden to pass or overtake under bridges;

5. The right of way under the bridge is given to a ship going downstream;

6. Units may not be moored to bridges or water structures;

7. It is forbidden to land in the following conditions:

a) in the passages under the bridges within 100 m above and below;

b) near the ferry service (50 m below or above);

c) in straits and troublesome passages inside sharp bends of waterways and transverse dams (spurs);

d) at the mouth of tributaries, branches of the channels, entering the port;

e) in places marked with a nautical sign prohibiting stopping;

f) on sections of rivers forming the state border (outside the stipulated stopping places);

8. You must not pass the lock canals on the canalised routes;

9. It is not allowed to enter the lock chamber without the consent of the lock manager;

10. Closed guard gates and ramps may only be approached from a distance 100 m;

11. On passing, upstream ships should keep as far as possible, as far as the conditions of the shipping route allow, and downstream ships must, as far as possible, facilitate safe passing each other;

12. In the event of traffic on waterways, ships should follow the route, the shipping company, the rule of right-hand traffic applies;

13. Small units’ (also a canoe) they must be inferior to all sailing boats without exception;

14. It is forbidden to drive into the water areas above and below the weirs, if the waterway does not pass through the weir or if it is not permitted by the competent shipping authority;

15. In the event of an accident, each unit is obliged to provide assistance regardless of the losses, which it may incur. In case of any doubts regarding the given statutory or customary provisions, we always interpret them to our disadvantage.
